Giants vs. Steelers betting preview: Odds, picks, props, trends, injuries, weather and more for Week 8 Monday Night Football

Before you lock in your plays for Monday's New York Giants at Pittsburgh NFL game, check out our full betting preview.

It is not hyperbole to say that Daniel Jones is the worst primetime quarterback in NFL history, and things don't seem likely to change for Jones and the New York Giants (2-5) tonight as they visit Russell Wilson and the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) to conclude Week 8. Considering the state of both franchises right now, it's moderately surprising the Steelers are only 6-point favorites. They have won 21 straight MNF games at home, a league record. There are weather concerns in Pittsburgh and the game has a low total of 36.5. With a single Monday game this week, it's the usual 8:15 ET kick and on both ESPN and ABC.

Jones' 1-14 career primetime record is the worst by any quarterback since the merger (minimum 10 starts), and he has accounted for zero total touchdowns in his past seven primetime games. Barring one of the most incredible in-season turnarounds in modern NFL history, there's all but zero chance Jones is on the Giants' roster in 2025. Last week, owner John Mara said he was committed to embattled head coach Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen for this season and anticipated no changes regarding those roles in the offseason, either. But Mara notably didn't say anything about Jones. There is one piece of good news for those of us tired of watching Jones and this inept offense in primetime games: New York doesn't have any left in 2024.

Meanwhile, there's a reason that Pittsburgh's Mike Tomlin has set an NFL record with 17 straight non-losing seasons to start a head coaching career -- he clearly knows what he's doing. Tomlin was criticized by some for benching Justin Fields for Russell Wilson despite the former Bear posting a 4-2 record, but the struggling Steelers offense woke up under Wilson in last Sunday night's blowout win of the Jets. Clearly there's no hint of QB controversy going forward.

This will obviously be Wilson's first primetime start for Pittsburgh and he owns an 11-5 record on MNF, the fourth-highest winning percentage (.668) by a quarterback this century (minimum 10 starts). The best such winning percentage in that span? Former Steelers great Ben Roethlisberger at .773 (17-5).
